Terms and Conditions – Car Rental (Self Drive)

By renting a car from Lako Rental Labuan Bajo, the renter acknowledges and agrees to the following terms and conditions:

1. Renter Requirements

• Minimum age: 21 years old.
• Must hold a valid driving license (SIM A or equivalent international license).
• Must provide a valid ID card or passport as collateral.
• The renter agrees to be photographed with the provided documents for administrative purposes.

2. Vehicle Use

• The car may only be driven by the renter or additional drivers registered at the time of rental.
• Sub-renting, lending, or transferring the car to a third party is strictly prohibited.
• The car must not be used for:
  • Illegal activities
  • Racing or reckless driving
  • Off-road use
  • Transporting prohibited goods
• The renter must comply with all Indonesian traffic laws and regulations.

3. Rental Fees & Payment

• Rental rates are as agreed upon at the time of booking.
• Full payment must be made in advance (cash/bank transfer).
• Additional charges apply for late return, excess mileage (if applicable), or extra services.

4. Fuel, Accessories & Condition

• The car is provided with sufficient fuel and must be returned with the same level.
• Accessories such as GPS, child seat, or Wi-Fi devices (if provided) must be returned in good condition.
• Loss or damage to accessories will incur replacement charges.
• The renter must check the condition of the car before use and report any existing damage.

5. Renter’s Responsibility

• The renter is responsible for maintaining the car in good condition during the rental period.
• The renter is fully liable for any damage, theft, or loss of the car.
• All repair costs due to negligence, misuse, or accidents are borne by the renter.
• In case of total loss or theft, the renter must compensate based on the vehicle’s market value or as agreed with the rental company.

6. Accidents & Insurance

• The renter is responsible for any accident that occurs during the rental period.
• All medical, repair, and legal expenses are the responsibility of the renter.
• If insurance is included, claims will be processed according to the insurance policy terms. Any costs not covered by insurance remain the renter’s responsibility.
• Travel insurance is MANDATORY for all tours arranged by Lako Rental Labuan Bajo. We strongly recommend that you take out appropriate insurance when booking your vacation. Please consult with a reputable travel insurance company.

7. Return of the Car

• The car must be returned at the agreed time and location.
• Late return will incur additional charges.
• The car must be returned clean, with the same fuel level, and in the same condition as received.

8. Cancellation Policy

• Cancellation after booking confirmation may be subject to an administrative fee.
• Last-minute cancellations (less than 24 hours before pick-up) may result in forfeiture of prepaid fees.

9. Prohibited Acts

• Smoking inside the car is not allowed (unless specifically permitted).
• Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited.
• Transporting animals without prior approval is not allowed.

10. Governing Law

• These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia.
• Any disputes shall be resolved amicably, or through legal proceedings if necessary.
